Some things are worth keeping in sight. Eda combines practical storage with space to display the objects that matter to you. Its open forms give books, collected objects and everyday belongings a place within the room, keeping their memories and meaning close to hand.

Eda takes its name from the Japanese word for “branch”. The gently widening connections echo the way a branch joins a tree, giving strength to the frame. Curved transitions bring the elements together with a natural flow, creating the impression that each piece has been shaped from one continuous piece of wood.

  

Horizontal shelves and staggered vertical dividers form a rhythm reminiscent of a musical score. Their arrangement helps distribute weight between the shelves while creating openings of different proportions. Structure and composition work together, making room for objects of different shapes and sizes.

  

Smooth solid wooden surfaces meet a softly rounded frame, with each transition carefully resolved. Subtle differences in height between the surfaces and surrounding structure add depth. These details continue throughout the collection, giving its simple forms a distinct character. 

  
   

WHERE COMPOSITION
MEETS FUNCTION

Eda began with the ambition to create a large, functional rack with a light presence. Long shelves and open sides provide generous storage while keeping the objects within visible. 

Stacked books, a textured sculpture and a metallic bowl bring different shapes and materials into the frame. The staggered divisions connect them within one composition, while giving each object its own space. 

This is Eda’s double function: practical furniture that also offers a place to show and share the things that matter to you. Souvenirs, keepsakes and collection objects become daily reminders of places and experiences, and natural conversation starters when family and friends visit. 

  
 
 
 

DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS
OF EDA

The low rack gives Eda’s rhythm a more horizontal expression. Beneath the artwork, its long upper surface provides space for sculptural vessels and a shallow bowl, while books and ceramics sit within the open compartments below. Storage and display come together within a single piece. 

The contrast between rounded objects and the frame’s clear lines highlights the versatility of its geometry. As with the high rack, flowing connections and slim shelf profiles keep the overall form visually light.

The objects may change overtime, but the furniture continues to give them a place. A new find can sit beside a familiar favourite, allowing a collection to evolve while keeping meaningful belongings in view. Across Eda, from open storage to occasional tables, the same rhythm of flowing connections and balanced proportions carries through.
